Breastfeeding Peer Support

Our breastfeeding peer support team are here to help you reach your breastfeeding goals. If you're happy for your information to be shared, the team will contact you after you have left hospital to offer breastfeeding support. Someone will call or text you within 2 days of arriving home. They will talk to you about one to one and group support near you, run by trained staff and volunteers. You can read more about choosing to share your information at the bottom of this page.

The team can support you with positioning and attaching your baby to the breast, understanding normal newborn behaviour and building loving relationships. They can also provide guidance on returning to work. The group sessions can help you build your confidence and meet other parents.

Newcastle parents can access breastfeeding support at any time by calling 07826 531 575.
