Advocacy

Newcastle Youth Advocacy

Need help getting your voice heard?

Your voice matters!

If you’re a young person in Newcastle, we’re here to help. You have the right to speak up—and we’ll make sure that happens.

Advocacy is all about helping you share your views and make choices about your life. Having an advocate can:

  • Explain your rights in a way that makes sense

  • Support you to make decisions that matter to you

  • Help you speak up about the things that are important

Want to chat? Email us at voice@newcastle.gov.uk  and connect with the Voice and Influence team.

What can an advocate do for you?

  • Help you understand your choices and rights

  • Make sure your opinions and feelings are heard and respected

  • Give you a voice in decisions about your life

  • Explain what’s going on and why decisions are made

  • Support you to speak up for yourself

  • Go to meetings with you—or go for you if you can’t

  • Speak up for you and challenge decisions you want changed

  • Help you make a formal complaint if needed
